The info is below as well as a verification by the Waterloo shul that the writer is for real.
The letter is written by someone for whom English is a second language. I tried to clean it up a bit without changing the meaning but it is still a bit rough.

Shalom,
My name is Dror Voichansky from Israel.
I am trying to trace any information about my grandfather's sisters from Vitebsk. Their maiden name was Woichanski.
One sister was possibly named Liza nee Voichansky or Woichansky.
She emigrated to Canada around 1905 and probably lived in the Toronto area. I think that the sisters lived in Waterloo and that one of them still lived in Waterloo until she died but I do not know her second name after marriage.
Sara and her sister were born around 1880/1890 in Vitebsk or in Gorodok near Vitebsk.
Sara nee Woichanski came to Canada in 1905 and then moved to Boston after she got married. I don't know her second name after marriage.
Sarah lived in Boston in an area where Jews spoke Yiddish -- in downtown Boston (maybe in West End?).
The sisters were the daughters of Chaim Beer Voikhansky (my great-grandfather). I dont know his wife's name (my great grandmother).
The only thing that I know is that Sara got married to a Russian Jew who lived in the USA.
Later, maybe around 1918-1920, two other sisters, Rosa and Bassia Voichansky, came to America.
Rosa and Basia were born in 1892 and I think that they were twins.
This new information I have got from my cousin who lives in Samara Russia. During the Second World War (or after the war) the sisters tried to find their brother Semion (Semen Vaikhansky) and his family.
It is possible that they applied to find their brother. After the war they found his family who all fled from Vitebsk to Buguruslan in the Kuibishev-Samara area.
Perhaps Haim Ber had other children? Any information about the sisters will be relevant for me.
Thank you very much and have a nice day,
Dror Voichansky

File cards from the Red Cross International Tracing Service collection:
Looking for information about the inquirer's
According to a new information that came to me, my grandfather's sisters were looking for their brother Semyon(Semen) during the war or/and after the war. They sent a request to the Red Cross to seach for Semen Vaikansky and his family.
Semen (Voichansky) Vaikhansky's family fled from Vitebsk to Russia to the city Bugruslan in Orenburg district in 1941.
In 1945 or 1946 the Red Cross identified Semen and his family in Bugruslan and gave his address to his sisters in the USA and Canada. The sisters contacted his family and sent a letter in - 1946 (by then Semen Vaikhansky was allready dead)
For me any information about the inquirer's, any relatives who were looking for Semen Vaikhansky from Vitebsk will be relevant.
Here are some details about Semyon Vaikhansky and his family:
Semyon was born in Vitebsk (or near Vitebsk in Gorodok) in 1881 and died in Buguruslan in April - 1945.
Yeruhim Vaikhansky, his son, was born in 1909 and had a high position in the Communist Party. He was killed in 1941 as a Politruk in the Red Army.
Semen's daughter Shifra Vaikhansky was born in 1910 and was also a party member.
His wife was Beila Abramona Vaikhansky nee Raviz
Simeon was the son of Chaim Vaikhansky and he was a tanner in his profession and the head of the tanners Vitebsk's Association.
Sincerely,
Dror Voichansky

Hi Members of Waterloo's Jewish community. As the recipient of <info@templeshalom.ca>, I got the message below the line of "=====".I was worried about its legitimacy. So I did a little bit of detective work with the help of Bezek, the Israeli land line phone company, and its information number 144.
I read the Hebrew name that comes with the e-mail address as Dror Vikhanski
I went to http://private.b144.co.il/ and entered that name in Hebrew into the name field under chipus anashim, with yishuv mishmar ha'emek and it worked..
It showed that Dror is married to Dina and lives in Mishmar Haemek:
http://private.b144.co.il/search.aspx?txtNamePrivate=WW(WW(+WWWWW W!W'W&txtCityPrivate=WW)WW(+WW"WW'&txtStreetPrivate=&txtStreetNPrivate=&_private=0&_p=&_lang=HE
(phonetically)
Vikhanski, Dina vDror
Mishmar Haemek, 19236
The phone number shows up only if you click on it..
The land line is different from the cell phone number given in the message but that's normal.
So I would say that this checks out.
So, I send it out to our membership and urge members and owners of other lists to propagate it with the above confirmation.
Dan
